Free and open to the public. Cash bar and small plates by Entre for purchase.
Calling all Valentine’s Day haters! Join CAM for an Unhappy Hour and take part in the art installation I ♥ Melancholy, a black-on-black wall professing a love for the downhearted. Have the mysteries of your love life revealed with a complimentary tarot card reading by Julia Gordon-Bramer, enjoy British-style craft beers by Civil Life, small plates for sale by Entre, and listen to the 17th Annual Anti-Valentine’s Day edition of Juxtaposition, featuring two hours of sadness, spite and misery by KDHX DJ Rob Levy.
I ♥ Melancholy is featured in CAM’s current exhibition Jeremy Deller: Joy in People—the first mid-career survey of one of Britain’s most significant contemporary artists—and offers the chance to experience Jeremy Deller’s collaborative and interactive work firsthand. Then head next door to the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts for a special Valentine’s Day Sound Waves program featuring music, poetry, and more food!
- At CAM: Heart on a Stick (marinated and grilled beef heart, kimchi) and Fish and Chips Lollipop, mint and pea puree, fish sauce mayo.
- At the Pulitzer: Bloody Truffles (dark chocolate truffles with blood orange, smoked salt) and Wig (cotton candy, chocolate, marshmallow, rock candy).
