6:00–7:00 pm

Remarks, followed by brief tour: 6:15 pm. Complimentary bar and valet.

Join CAM for the opening of summer exhibitions, featuring Occupational Therapy—a group show about the complexities of the artistic process—and recent work by acclaimed photographer Laurie Simmons. Also on view are paintings by Australian artist Michael Staniak and a celebration of the twentieth anniversary of CAM’s flagship education program, New Art in the Neighborhood.  Green Varnish, a living sculpture by New York-based Nomad Studio, will take over CAM’s courtyard May 23 through September 13, and an exhibition of new work made specifically for CAM by painter Liat Yossifor opens on July 3.

Enjoy remarks by CAM’s director and a brief curator-led tour of the summer exhibitions before the public reception.

Art Shuttle
CAM, Pulitzer Arts Foundation, and the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum  will provide a free art shuttle between all three locations, which are hosting opening receptions this evening. The shuttle will run in a continuous loop between Grand Center and Washington University in St. Louis beginning at 6:30 pm, with the last shuttles leaving both locations at 9:00 pm. Visitors are encouraged to park at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum and ride the shuttle to CAM and the Pulitzer in Grand Center.
