Friday, June 5

6:00–8:00 pm

Activity lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Part of the Occupational Therapy exhibition, Sanatorium is a living artwork by Mexican artist Pedro Reyes that explores art and psychology. This transient clinic provides short “therapies,” using a combination of ritual, play, and experimentation, run by volunteer “therapists.”

Using a balloon and punching bag, participants are invited to physically express anger at someone who has hurt them. At the end you will be given a sugar pill, a placebo that is your “Vaccine Against Violence.” Experience this cathartic procedure every First Friday.
