The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis seeks Security Guards to join our team. Reporting primarily to the Visitor Experience and Events Manager—as well as Lead Visitor Experience Associates and appropriate full-time CAM staff as necessary—the Security Guard is responsible for the protection of the museum premises, artwork, visitors, and personnel. This position will maintain a high visibility presence in the galleries and be prepared to deter all illegal or inappropriate actions in a professional manner.
This is a part-time position with a variable work schedule that is dependent on programs and events. In addition to staffing regular museum hours (Thursday–Sunday 10:00 am–5:00 pm and Friday 10:00 am–8:00 pm), the Security Guard work schedule may include staffing exhibition openings, programs, and events.
Successful candidates have proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position; excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols; and a high degree of integrity and professionalism. Interest in contemporary art and/or museums is a plus.
