DESCRIPTION:Support queer Black artists in our community during Qu’art’s annual Black Friday Ball & Marketplace. Both events will now take place online. \nBlack Friday Marketplace \nQu’art and the CAM Shop have partnered to feature select local queer Black makers offering items for sale in the Black Friday Marketplace! Artists include Maxi Glamour\, Tiélere Cheatem\, Annie Kern\, Kyla Hawkins\, Ori Tala\, and Mya Stephens. Shop the Black Friday Marketplace collection below. \nShop \nBlack Friday Ball \nThis virtual celebration features a panel discussion\, performance\, and vogue competition. Tune in and stream the Black Friday Ball live on Twitch on Friday\, November 27. \n6:00–6:45 pm: A panel discussion featuring: \n\n Phillipe M. Cunningham\, Minneapolis City Councilmember and the first and currently only out trans man of color elected to office in the U.S. Councilman Cunningham serves as Chair of the Minneapolis City Council’s Public Health and Safety committee and is the lead councilmember for the city’s transformative community safety work.\nShigo Ladurée\, drag performer. Shigo resides in Paris and is a self-branded “drag villain” and Black Lives Matter advocate.\nKayla Reed\, Co-Founder & Executive Director of Action St. Louis. Kayla is a Black\, queer\, feminist\, organizer and strategist who works to build Black political power in St. Louis.\nThe Vixen\, drag performer. During her participation on the tenth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race\, she raised a conversation around racial dynamics among her fellow drag queens. She founded BlackGirlMagic\, a drag concert\, where queens of color can celebrate their unique experiences through storytelling and performance.\n\n6:45–7:15 pm: Drag performances featuring Majic Dyke\, Blanca The Bawdy\, and more \n7:15–8:00 pm: Ball and Vogue Competition commentated by Meko Lee Burr \nWatch
