This event celebrates Great Rivers Biennial 2024 artist Ronald Young. \nSchedule \n\n5:00 pm Drinks and specialty cocktails available for purchase from AO&Co; complimentary light bites available\n6:00–8:00 pm Drop-in assemblage art-making with the artist’s son\, Kenneth Young\n7:00–8:30 pm Music by DJ Nico\n\n  \n\nAbout Ronald Young  \nPhoto: Tyler Small.\nGreat Rivers Biennial artist Ronald Young celebrates the hard-won beauty of uninhabited sites throughout St. Louis. Through his work\, Young elevates salvaged materials including weathered domestic hardware\, nails\, and disintegrating wooden molding into compelling\, multilayered sculptures. Young celebrates the resiliency of disenfranchised communities\, calling attention to these sites before all memory of their existence is erased. Great Rivers Biennial 2024 is on view at CAM through February 9\, 2025. \nAbout Kenneth Young \nPhoto: Kenneth Young.\nKenneth Young is a multidisciplinary artist from St. Louis\, Missouri\, whose work explores the intersection of color theory\, astrology\, and self identity. While attending Missouri Western State University\, Kenneth chose to pursue digital animation\, while also minoring in painting. With a focus on digital collages and large scale paintings\, Kenneth’s creative process revolves around creating pieces that evoke a sense of nostalgia and personal reflection. While having several pieces in Missouri Western’s private collection\, Kenneth has also been apart of several group exhibitions. These exhibitions include Black Boy Art Show\, where he was invited to showcase his work in both Atlanta and Chicago. Kenneth has also been in participated in several of Brock Seals group exhibitions in his hometown of St. Louis\, including Art\, Pancakes\, and Mimosas.
