SUMMARY:First Friday: Gather ‘Round
DESCRIPTION:Grab a friend and start your weekend with art\, music\, and culture in the Grand Center Arts District. The first Friday of each month\, CAM and neighboring museums are open late. \nThis month\, you’re invited to come and gather ‘round to authentically share communal space. As a complement to the exhibition Access Is an Invitation: CAM Connect Showcase\, members of CAM’s Disability Justice Steering Committee and local artists will activate the Performance Space with conversations\, performances\, and hands-on art experiences that explore the question: What does it mean to truly feel welcome?  \nSchedule \n\n5:00 pm: Galleries open with current exhibitions on view; drinks available for purchase \n5:30 pm: Drop-in activities begin\, including a pop-up art display by Angela Botz\, a fabric art activity with Asia Johnson-Brimmage of Artists First\, and DIY book art activity with Martha Valenta\n6:00 pm: Interactive station on intersectional identities with Healing Spaces STL\n7:00 pm: Dance performance by Gray Wilde\n8:00 pm: Activation of Haegue Yang’s Mound Vehicles\n\nSnacks provided; drinks for purchase.
