SUMMARY:Horn Beam Sacrament: A Performance by Jamal Cyrus
DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with Like Water\, CAM has commissioned a new performance by Houston-based artist Jamal Cyrus. He will be joined by musicians Corey De’Juan Sherrard\, Jr. and Damon Smith\, as well as poet K. Curtis Lyle to anoint a saxophone. Cyrus’s exhibited sculptures incorporate musical instruments and offer “opportunities to connect Afro-diasporic spiritual and musical traditions.” \nRegistration is encouraged; please click here to sign up and receive any updates to this event.  \nAccessibility notes \n\nThis performance takes place outside in CAM’s courtyard\, weather permitting\nThe courtyard has gravel with a paved perimeter\nSeating will be provided\nIncense and smoke will be a part of the performance. A viewing space from inside the museum is available.
