SUMMARY:Native Women’s Care Circle Water Blessing
DESCRIPTION:Location: Lincoln Shields Recreation Area\, West Alton\, MO \nAs part of World Water Day celebrations\, honor the river by joining Saundi McClain-Kloeckener and fellow Native Women’s Care Circle members near the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers to offer blessings to the waters. This event is part of a series of gatherings offered in conjunction with Make the River Present. \nNative Women’s Care Circle is an inclusive\, Indigenous-led\, grassroots prayer group that practices stewardship of the lands and waters. Members up and down the Mississippi River and at waterways around the world meet regularly to offer a prayer for the river: Water\, we love you. Water\, we thank you. Water\, we respect you. \nRegistration is encouraged; please click here to sign up. \nAccessibility notes \n\nThere is ample parking available for free at the site. \nThis event is outdoors and open to the elements. Guests are encouraged to wear layers and sun protection. A covered shelter is available at the site.\nThere is no running water; available restrooms are pit toilets\nAttendees will be asked to stand during The Water Blessing. Camping stools will be available.\nThere is no amplified sound.\nTo request an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter for this event\, please contact programs@camstl.org with as much prior notice possible to ensure availability.
