DESCRIPTION:Register \n\n\n\n\nWhat does resistance look like in St. Louis today? Join a panel of leaders—Sharon Morrow\, Dr. LJ Punch\, and Kayla Reed—involved in grassroots efforts for social change\, who will place the global examples cited in Stories of Resistance into dialogue with local forms of activism. Exploring topics such as communal care\, harm reduction\, and resistance to state oppression\, speakers will offer insights and invitations to their work in the pursuit of justice and equity in our city. CAM School and Community Programs Manager Miriam Ruiz will moderate this virtual discussion. \nAbout the panelists: \nSharon Morrow has long been active with Street Kitchen Community Outreach and is also a founder of Tent Mission STL\, which has been reinventing street outreach during the coronavirus pandemic. \nDr. LJ Punch is a trauma surgeon and the founder of The T\, a heath education and resource center in the East Loop. \nKayla Reed is a Black queer organizer\, strategist\, and co-founder/director of Action St. Louis\, a grassroots organization\, working to build Black political power in St. Louis.
