Visitor Policies

Coat & Bag Check
All bags are subject to security inspection before entering the Museum. The Museum requires visitors to check backpacks of any size, shopping bags, and all bags larger than eleven by seventeen by six inches. The Museum may refuse to accept other items at its discretion and is not responsible for items held at the coat check.

Photography is not permitted in the Museum galleries. Still photography and videotaping are permitted in the lobby only.

Cell Phones
The use of cellular phones for talking is not permitted in the Museum’s galleries. Using a cellular phone for CAM’s Audio Tour is allowed and encouraged.

Sketching is permitted in the galleries (pencil only, no ink or paint) with sketchbooks no larger than eight and a half by eleven inches (twenty-one and a half by twenty-eight centimeters). No easels, stools, or sketching while sitting on the floor is permitted. If galleries are crowded, guards may ask visitors to stop sketching or writing.

Food & Drink
Outside food and drinks are not permitted in the Museum. Food and drinks are only permitted in the café. During special events, food and drinks are allowed in the lobby.

The Museum and its programs are accessible to people using wheelchairs. All galleries and facilities are wheelchair accessible. One wheelchair is available in the coat check free of charge. Please call in advance to reserve one if you need a wheelchair during your visit.
