As part of his exhibition Ruta Madre, Justin Favela presents his participatory performance piece Family Fiesta. In this ongoing project, the artist and his family throw an all-ages party featuring their favorite traditions.
This event offers the following activities free and open to all ages: piñata, food, music, dance, activities, and tabling from community organizations. Translations and educators who speak Spanish will be available.
- 5:00 pm Event begins with music by DJ Andres Salas
- 5–8 pm Food by Tacos El Paisa and El Chico Bakery, as well as an art activity by Yvonne Anguiano available
- 5:30 pm First Piñata
- 6:00 pm & 7:30 pm Performances by Our Lady of Guadalupe dancers
- 8:15 pm Second Piñata
Todas las ofrendas son gratis y para todas las edades: piñata, comida, música, baile, actividades, y puestos de organizaciones. Traducción y educadores que hablan Español serán disponible.
