Thanks to your support, we are pleased to have a full house for the Viva la Masters Gala!
This year, we gather to celebrate CAM and the role it plays in making St. Louis a great place for people to live and work. We are delighted to honor three great St. Louisans who also make our community great and represent what’s right about St. Louis:
- Ron Kruszewski, CEO/Chairman/President of Stifel Financial, who led his company to record growth in recent years during a period of unprecedented economic turmoil. This company could be based anywhere in the world but calls St. Louis its home.
- David Robertson, Music Director and Conductor of St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, who exemplifies virtuosity and energy as he leads the performance on stage.
- Dr. Matthew Smyth, pediatric neurosurgeon at Children’s Hospital, who every day performs mastery in the operating room, saving lives of children facing uncertain futures.
CAM would like to thank the event Chair David Drier and also the auction’s Co-Chairs Nanette Boileau and Elissa Cahn. We also want to thank all of our sponsors, including Presenting Sponsor Novus International, Major Sponsors Centene Charitable Foundation and SNR Denton, Platinum Sponsors Emerson, Renaissance Financial, St. Louis Magazine, TOKY Branding + Design, and Wells Fargo Advisors, and Gold Sponsors Edward Jones, Alison and John Ferring, Jeffrey Fort, RKL Consulting, and Jeanne and Rex Sinquefield. Special thanks to all of our other sponsors and patrons for their generous support.
For those attending tonight, we look forward to seeing you at the Ritz-Carlton this evening. As a reminder, cocktails start at 6:30 pm and dinner at 7:30 pm. Get your bidding arm ready as we will again present an energetic live auction of several amazing works of art donated by major contemporary artists from around the world. We are delighted to welcome back our guest auctioneer Aileen Agopian, Senior Vice President and international contemporary art specialist from Sotheby’s New York. It should be a wonderful evening of celebration and we look forward to seeing you!
With all the gala excitement, don’t forget that CAM will open a major new exhibition, Cryptic, next Friday, May 20th. The exhibition will feature works by Spanish Old Master Francisco Goya - borrowed from the Saint Louis Art Museum - paired with works by contemporary artists. The opening is on May 20th: member preview at 6:00 pm and open to the general public (free admission) from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. We hope to see you there!
Thank you again for supporting CAM.
