C.R.E.A.M. Fair

In conjunction with her exhibition Nobody’s Gonna Love You the Way I Do, Ayana Evans brings her ongoing community engagement project C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me) to St. Louis. Part block party and part opportunity fair, C.R.E.A.M. connects community members—such as students, job seekers, queer activists, artists, and people affected by the justice system—with free resources and supportive services. Whether you, someone you love, or members of your community are looking for helpful paths forward, come to the C.R.E.A.M. Fair for a joyful communal space centered on care, creativity, and collective support. Bright, comfortable clothes are encouraged—no suits allowed!

Schedule

10:00 am / The C.R.E.A.M. Fair opens with the following offerings:

  • Engage in an interactive art activity with Freedom Arts & Education Center 
  • Discover the cultural resources of 4theVille, Show Me The World, and The Black Rep 
  • Learn how Keyway Center for Diversion & Reentry offers assistance on housing stability, financial security, emotional wellness, and community reengagement 
  • Explore Mission: St. Louis’s Beyond Jobs program for individuals seeking meaningful employment, career advancement, and opportunities to build greater stability
  • Sign up with St. Louis Public Library to get a library card and access to Tech Connect services, including website development, resume writing, and Creative Experience (recording rooms, 3D printers, laser cutters, digital creative software, and more!)
  • Meet with admissions representatives from Harris-Stowe State University, Ranken Technical College, and Webster University
  • Access health resources from the St. Louis City Health Department

10:00–11:30 am / Play Date drop-in art activity

11:00 am / Performance by Harris Stowe State University Honeycombs and The Swarm Drumline

11:30 am–2:00 pm / Complimentary food

12:00–12:30 pm / Resume-writing and job-search workshop with St. Louis Public Library

12:00–1:00 pm / Free headshots with Tyler Small

12:30 pm / Art + Wellness with Nico Marie

1:00 pm / Panel Discussion moderated by Ayana Evans

2:00 pm / Step performance by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

2:30 pm / Closing Remarks

  • Various parts of this program feature live music and loud sound. Noise cancelling headphones are available on a first come, first served basis.
  • Seating is available for the 10:00 am and 12:00 pm workshops and 1:00 pm panel discussion on a first come, first served basis. If you require seating, please email programs@camstl.org to reserve a seat.
  • Light lunch is available for free, drinks and additional food are available for purchase.
