Start the first Friday of the month with art, music, and culture in the Grand Center Arts District. As always, our galleries will be open one hour later than usual for some late night browsing.
This month, we’re pleased to host a special First Friday celebrating Disability Pride month, which marks the anniversary of the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990. Visitors who are Deaf and hard of hearing are invited to kick off the event with a special happy hour in partnership with DEAF Inc. Then, visitors of all ages and abilities are welcome to enjoy a card-making activity with artist Jennifer Allie Friedrich, whose arts advocacy platform Criptonite Arts aims to empower individuals, families, and communities to reverse the negative stigma of “disabilities” and to promote the power of “possibilities.”
ASL interpretation is provided between 5:00–8:00pm.
