Power of Creative Pauses: Beethoven’s String Quartet, Op. 131 with St. Louis Symphony Orchestra

In a special performance honoring CAM’s 20th anniversary, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra presents Beethoven’s String Quartet Op. 131. As one of Beethoven’s last major completed compositions, this work resonates with the genesis of the exhibition Paul Chan: Breathers. Both Chan and Beethoven created these works after being on hiatus, which in both cases ultimately led to the creation of works marked by creative rebirth, struggle, and emotional complexity. The evening will include a brief, guided tour of Chan’s exhibition by Misa Jeffereis, Associate Curator.

Doors open at 7 pm

Tickets are $20 for general admission or $10 for students and artists. Visit slso.org to purchase tickets.
