For Tim Youd: St. Louis Retyped, the Los Angeles-based artist continues his series of durational performances by retyping books by authors with deep St. Louis connections—William S. Burroughs, T.S. Eliot, Stanley Elkin, and Marianne Moore—at CAM and at locations relating to the writers’ biographies. He retypes the books on the same model of typewriter each author used, typing on two sheets of paper run consecutively through the machine, with the two ink-battered sheets then hung as diptychs in CAM’s Front Room gallery.
Youd discusses his involvement with art of the written word with CAM Assistant Curator Misa Jeffereis. This event is free and open to the public
