In this workshop, hosted in collaboration with the Missouri Botanical Garden (MOBOT), participants will create paintings inspired by tours of both Shara Hughes: On Edge at CAM and plant life at MOBOT. St. Louis-based artist Luisa Otero Prada will guide participants to connect with their own experiences, feelings, thoughts, and memories to create an intuition-based painting.

Important details:

  • The program begins at CAM with a tour of the exhibition Shara Hughes: On Edge, 11am–noon, followed by lunch at the museum. Participants reconvene at MOBOT at 1:00 pm. The workshop ends at 5:00 pm.
  • Participants should plan to bring a smock, apron, or clothes they don’t mind getting dirty.
  • Outdoor time is incorporated into the program, weather permitting, and warm dress is encouraged.
  • Registration is capped at 10 participants to allow for social distancing.
  • Registration fee covers lunch and all supplies, which includes a take home brush kit and notebook. Scholarships are available; please contact programs@camstl.org for questions or to apply.
