As part of CAM’s ongoing commitment to our northside neighbors, the North St. Louis Creative Field Guide is a resident- and artist-led project that treats the garden as an art studio that creates wellbeing, community building, and renewed investment in place.
Lead artists Dail Chambers and Juan William Chávez and a working group are developing creative projects that preserve and share knowledge about art and nature in North St. Louis City. Opportunities for residents to share in this work will be available through events, a fall 2025 exhibition at CAM, and a forthcoming publication.
Working group: Qhuin Binion, Cary Brown, Gabi Cole, AleXe Harlem, Tosha Phonix, Ronda Smith Branch, and Frankie Williams
Community collaborators include: City of St. Louis Planning and Urban Design Agency, Creative Reaction Lab, Northside Workshop, and Forest ReLeaf
North St. Louis Creative Field Guide is organized for the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis by Michelle Dezember, Director of Learning and Engagement, and Alexis Creamer, Community Access Manager.
