As a launchpad for creative voices, CAM is thrilled that our Chief Curator, Wassan Al-Khudhairi, participated as a juror for the 2024 Suzanne Deal Booth / FLAG Art Foundation Prize, recently awarded to artist Lubaina Himid. The prize is considered “transformative for an artist receiving it, not unlike a MacArthur ‘genius’ award” by sharon maidenberg, Director and CEO of the Contemporary Austin.
